Rich Author, Poor Writer – How to get paid for doing what you love

Do you spend your days at a 9-5 job wishing you were writing? Have you poured more time into writing query letters and synopses than actual stories, only to be rejected time and time again? Have you spent countless hours racking your brain as to why publishers aren’t interested in your writing when you have hundreds of fans who love your work?

Then it’s time to become a rich author and stop thinking like a poor writer!

Lisa Cottrell-Bentley spent over eight years sending query letters and receiving rejections. Publishers claimed that the 2.2 million families in her target audience were not enough to make her books profitable. She disagreed and sought investors to help get her into her emerging niche market.

With modern technologies, it is easier than ever for a writer’s work to get to its intended audience. Lisa will help define a variety of often misunderstood terms as well as help lay out a plan for writers to get paid to do what they love the most: write!

Lisa Cottrell-Bentley is no stranger to start-up companies, having worked for and/or owned five. So, when private investment made it possible to her to turn her small internet consulting company, Do Life Right, Inc., into an independent publishing house, she went for it and hasn’t looked back. Lisa is currently writing more of her Wright on Time series of children’s chapter books and actively seeking additional capital to accelerate the growth of Do Life Right, Inc. With two published books under its belt, Wright on Time: Arizona, Book 1, and Wright on Time: Utah, Book 2, Do Life Right, Inc. is now accepting submissions for additional children’s books featuring homeschooled children. Lisa lives, learns and writes in Sahuarita, Arizona on ten acres with her husband and busy and brilliant daughters. Her desire is for all people to live their own personal dreams–starting now!
